Effectiveness and Sustainability
Approach
The EXCELerator Effectiveness and Sustainability phase focuses on the evaluation and long-term viability of the college readiness strategies and initiatives put in place during Implementation.
Analysis
The EXCELerator team determines the effectiveness of the strategies implemented, in order to identify and expand best practices, to modify strategies that are not achieving anticipated results, and to abandon programs and processes that do not work. A variety of methods may be used to evaluate strategies, including:
- District/school feedback
- Surveys of administrators, teachers, counselors, staff, students and families
- Classroom observations
- Monitoring change and progress in adult behavior
- Measurement of student outcomes
- Customized analyses
Results
The EXCELerator team works with the district to ensure that successful reform strategies are sustained in the district. This can be accomplished in several ways, such as:
- Providing professional development and support for teachers, counselors and administrators
- Expanded implementation and communication of best practices
- Developing repeatable processes with effective measurement tools
During the Effectiveness and Sustainability phase, the EXCELerator team seeks to fine-tune the strategies implemented and institutionalize positive reforms within the district.
